Today was Valentine's Day and I heard about a party at the American Embassy, but my date is half way around the world so I decided not to go. Instead, a bunch of the guys I live and I went out to a Gulf restaurant that we had been to once before. There were ten of us all together, and we decided to order a half goat and two chickens! You eat with your hands so we all tore into it like animals. Eating rice with your hands takes some practice, but you get used to it. After the meal, the waiter just cleared away the dishes and wraped everything up in the plastic table cloth and took it away super fast. For dessert we had a pastry thing which is like grilled cheese mixed with shredded wheat with buttermilk on the inside and honey on top.

Tomorrow I am going on a trip to Fayoum, a rural-ish place about two hours outside Cairo.
